Frequently Asked Questions

What is Neuromuscular Therapy?

Neuromuscular Therapy is a highly-specialized form of manual therapy that corrects pain and dysfunction by treating trigger point, muscle adhesions, and fascial (connective tissue) patterns.

How much pressure is enough?

Pressure used during the treatment is based on the client’s pain threshold – “no pain, no gain” is Not the motto. We ask the client to provide feedback on the sensitivity of trigger points and tissue; if the client’s pain reaches 8 on their 1-10 pain scale, the treatment is too intense. After 7 on the scale, the tissue starts to tighten up in response to the pain which is counterproductive, and inappropriate for achieving the client’s goals.

Do I need to be completely undress?

Simple answer is no! You will undress to your level of comfort. Majority of the client will undress down to their undergarments. This is up to the client to decide. You will be properly covered or draped under the sheet and a blanket at all times. Only the area being worked on will be exposed. No areas will be exposed without your consent.

While you disrobe to your comfort level and lay on the table under the sheet and a blanket, your therapist will leave the room until you are ready. Visit our instagram page for examples of how the draping are done.
